I get tired of the people who keep proclaiming… my name is this! My name is that! I’ve feeling today like I have this name! What the heck does that even mean… your name depends on your mood that day? These people are deliberately obfuscating who they are. This is mostly an annoying problem that the rest of us have to deal with, but the government and elected officials shouldn’t be encouraging it. Criminals are the ones who have aliases and fake names and all that. Normal people don’t need that. Change your name once, maybe, when you get married. By your third or fourth marriage, maybe just keep it the same for the sake of the rest of us. I get that some names like Drumpf might seem un-American, but I promise you, you are just as American as the rest of us. Changing it to Trump doesn’t make you more American. Be at peace with yourself. Changing your name from James Donald Bowman to James David Bowman to James David Bowman to James David Hamel to J.D. Hamel to J.D Vance reeks of insecurity. There are probably great reasons for each one and I sympathize, I really do. I really do. But that should be a personal thing. Don’t drag the government into it.
